It's A
Boy!
On July 13, 2011 we celebrated the arrival of
David Luke Rosenberger! He was born here in Managua, Nicaragua
at 6:34 pm, weighing in at 6 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring
19 inches long. We were thrilled that he came early so that
his daddy could have extra time with him before school
started. We praise God for a normal, non C-section birth. We
know many of you were praying for that! Having a baby has definitely
come with much change and just a few challenges, but it has been an
adventure that we feel blessed to be on.
Now David is 2 months
old and we are loving seeing him change and grow. Lately he
has been capturing our hearts with his smiles and cooing
sounds! It's so much fun having this little guy around! David has filled our home
with joy and gratitude toward our Heavenly Father for this little bundle of life!

How are we doing
it?
Now that Ellen is staying at home to care for
David full-time, she is no longer receiving a teaching stipend
from NCA. Although we had been working on increasing our
support level before David was born, we are still under our
monthly support goal. We are currently at 25% of this goal.
You might be wondering “How are they still
living in Nicaragua, being under-supported?” The answer is:
We are dipping into our savings to make up for the
monthly deficit. We know that we cannot do this for long. The
other question might be “What will they do if they do not
receive the needed support?” The answer is: we don’t know.
Have you
thought and prayed about supporting our ministry?
We encourage
you to take the step of joining our support team
today.

Celebrating 20
Years
Classes started up again at
Nicaragua Christian Academy on August 8th and we celebrated
their 20 year anniversary!
Luke began his 8th year at NCA.
It was very different this year not going back to school
together as we have always done since we have met. Yet through
the adjustments we are making as a family, the school year got
off to a great start. Many teachers agree that especially in
the High School there is a general positive attitude and
newness about the campus.
Luke loves teaching and being a
role model to his students. This semester he is teaching a New
Testament Bible class to 8th grade boys and computer classes for
elementary and secondary students.
With Everything
That is this year’s Youth
Group theme. It is derived from the song by Hillsong United.
The idea is that we worship and seek God with everything, not
just a portion of our being. We also live out our faith with
everything, not just a corner of our lives. When you think of
Youth Group, would you lift up our youth in regards to this
theme? That students would grow in their faith and love for
Christ and desire to let Him affect all areas of their lives?
This is truly why we are here in Nicaragua.
Luke considers his role as leader of the
Youth Group his primary ministry as he, along with a team of
adult leaders, strives to impact and disciple the next
generation. Yes, he loves teaching but he especially enjoys
the way that teaching allows him to have influence and
relationships with young people. Check out more pictures on facebook here.
Leadership Retreat
Luke really enjoyed being
involved in planning and leading NCA’s annual Leadership
Retreat, that took place September 1-3. Students attended sessions such as: growing closer to
God, finding a mentor, identity, worship and fasting,
integrity, and conflict resolution. This year, instead of only
Seniors serving as leaders in Youth Group, students from among
10th, 11th, and 12th grades were chosen with the goal of
having a more balanced leadership team and that younger grades
could gain experience leading and serving. To see more
